How It Works
The Scottish Midge/Mosquito.
Mosquitoes will start to appear once the temperature consistently remains above 50 degrees F. Female mosquitoes (the ones that bite) need protein from our blood to produce their eggs.
Breeding And Resting Areas.
Mosquitoes breed in water and live in foliage (bushes, tall grass, shrubs). Female Mosquitoes can lay up to 400 eggs at a time in as little as one drop of water.
Place the Mosquito Magnet near where mosquitos breed and live and at least 30-40 feet away from areas where people will be.
The Trap Lures.
Mimicking a human, the Mosquito Magnet releases a continuous stream of carbon dioxide and attractant to lure mosquitoes to the trap.
Mosquitoes Are Captured.
Mosquitoes detect the plume and travel toward it searching for a source. as they approach the trap they are vacuumed into a net (Using our patented Counterflow Technology**) where they dehydrate and die.
The Long Term Solution.
Over the next 3-6 weeks, as more females are captured, the population will be virtually eliminated, allowing you to enjoy your garden in peace.
LURES. The Mosquito Magnet spreads carbon dioxide (CO2) - the natural compound humans exhale - across insect breeding areas, attracting biting insects to the trap and away from you, your family, friends and customers.
CAPTURES. As biting insects close in on the trap, they are irresistably drawn in by short range attractants (Octenol) that mimic human skin and breath emissions and are then vacuumed into a net via Mosquito Magnets patented CounterFlow Technology where they dehydrate and die.
CONTROLS. By capturing the female biting insects the breeding cycle is disrupted, dramatically reducing the population in a given area and eliminating the insect infestation.
